Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as a Full-time Arabic Teacher Aide.
Appropriate rigorous reference and background checking will be undertaken for all applicants, including a Working with Children Check and police record and identity check.
Skills required:
- Assisting students in developing their Arabic speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension skills through one-on-one and small-group support.
- Supporting the Arabic teacher by reinforcing vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar concepts during class activities and language practice sessions.
- Help create an immersive Arabic learning environment by encouraging the use of Arabic in conversation and assisting with reading and comprehension exercises.
- Assisting with the communication between students and teachers, particularly the interpretation of instructions
- Providing basic physical and emotional care for students
- Participating in team meetings
- Assisting with the supervision of pupils in playgrounds, at camps, on excursions, in sporting activities, therapy activities and life skills
- Assisting in the preparation of student resources and equipment
- Preparing basic curriculum support resources
- Setting up and putting away equipment and materials in support of teaching programs
- Observing students and draw the attention of the teacher to them where necessary
- Participating in the monitoring and evaluation of programs and evaluation of individual student involvement and achievement
- Assisting with communication between teachers, parents and students
- Proficient in spoken and written English
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- Current Working with Children Check
- Experience with Windows software, especially Outlook, Word and Excel
- Attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Ability to work independently but more importantly participate effectively as part of a team
- 1 to 2 year experience in a similar role
