Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Imam to lead our Masjid community. The ideal candidate will possess strong public speaking and communication skills, along with a passion for teaching and guiding others in their spiritual journey. This role is pivotal in fostering a welcoming environment for worship and community engagement.
Duties
- Lead daily prayers and special religious services, including Jummah (Friday prayers) and Eid celebrations.
- Provide spiritual guidance and counselling to community members, addressing their religious and personal concerns.
- Teach Islamic studies, including Quranic recitation, Hadith, and the principles of Islam to various age groups.
- Organise community events, lectures, and workshops to promote understanding of Islamic teachings.
- Foster relationships within the community through effective communication and outreach initiatives.
- Collaborate with other religious leaders and organisations to enhance interfaith dialogue and cooperation.
- Maintain the Masjid’s facilities, ensuring they are clean, safe, and conducive for worship.
- Strong public speaking abilities with experience in delivering sermons or lectures.
- Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with diverse community members.
- Teaching experience in Islamic studies or related fields is highly desirable.
- A deep understanding of Islamic teachings, traditions, and practices.
- Ability to connect with individuals of all ages and backgrounds within the community.
- A commitment to ongoing personal development in both religious knowledge and leadership skills.
- Previous experience in a similar role or within a Masjid setting is an advantage. This position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of community members while promoting the values of Islam through education and guidance.
