JOB OUTLINE As Cambridge Central Mosque continues to grow and expand we are now seeking to hire a  Madrasa Teacher  to join our dynamic and forward-thinking team! Cambridge Central Mosque has a unique evening madrasa programme and are happy to be welcoming qualified or experienced part-time teachers to help us  fulfil the vision of creating a fun and engaging program for our children and transmitting  faith to our youth in a beautiful manner. WORK DETAILS

• Classes take place in Cambridge Central Mosque
• Classes are held on the following days: Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6-8pm
• Timely start and end of each class is mandatory
• Follow the agreed syllabus of the Madrasa
• Complete first aid and safeguarding training
• Undergo a DBS check prior to commencing work

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare lesson materials ahead of time
• Take student attendance register at the start of each lesson
• Discuss Tajweed rules and letter pronunciation
• Teach the recitation of the Quran
• Deliver Islamic studies from the textbook provided
• Follow the Al-Ghazali Children's Project curriculum
• Report safeguarding concerns/disclosures immediately to the madrasa DSL
• Report challenges, feedback and recommendations to programme leads
• Commence class sessions on time and end on time
• Attend monthly staff meetings

CORE SKILLS REQUIRED

• Excellent written, oral and electronic communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to deliver results, meet deadlines and manage time effectively

EXPERIENCE – ESSENTIAL/DESIRED  Essential

• Proficiency in Islamic studies required:
  • Qur'anic recitation
  • Tajweed rules
  • Basic Aqeedah
  • Basic Fiqh
  • Stories of the Prophets
  • Stories of the companions
  • Islamic morals and characteristics

Desired

• Past teaching experience in person or online
• Traditional, professional training in Islamic Studies

LANGUAGES

• Fluency in English - Essential
• Fluency in Arabic - Desired
