Role of Military Chaplain
A military chaplain is a chaplain who ministers to soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, and other military staff. Chaplains also support family members of military personnel in overseas operations. Chaplains also support civilian non-combatants who work for the military. Chaplains support military personnel with their religious and spiritual rights and needs but also offer pastoral care. It should also be noted that a chaplain’s role has become more important as they also advise senior officers on issues of religion, ethics, troop morale and morals. They also act as a conduit to local religious leaders and groups in order to foster positive understanding and also to understand the role of religion as both a factor of hostility and war and a means for peace and reconciliation.
