Role of School, College and University Chaplains

Chaplains play a very pertinent role at universities and colleges. For this reason, many educational institutions count on their services. Universities and colleges at times employ chaplains directly; however, sometimes they are representatives of external organisations that support students and their well-being. Chaplains work to support the well-being of students, faculties and staff in general. Additionally, they endeavour to promote interreligious understanding. An important role of the chaplain is also to foster spiritual, ethical, religious, political, and cultural programmes on campus. They also work to promote other services as part of the student experience.
