Job Description

Provide students with the tools to read/memorize the Quran and learn their Deen, in accordance with the aims of the school and curriculum policies. Ensure commitment to an Islamic ethics and set of values to secure high-quality learning, effective use of resources and improvement in standards of learning and achievement for all students.

Time Commitment: Part-time. Teaching schedule can be one or more of the following times: Mon/Wed 5:15-7:45pm, Tues/Thurs 5:15-7:45pm, and/or Sun 9:15am-3:15pm. Responsibilities: ● The teacher is responsible for the general atmosphere and conduct, academic and social, in his/her classroom and behavior of students during his/her scheduled class hours, including break time. ● They should maintain or assist in maintaining grade books, attendance records, lesson plans, monthly reports. ● Expected to be punctual and to clock in and clock out. ● Expected to coordinate with the administration and the representative. ● Develop and implement appropriate curriculum in accordance with the teachings of Islam and stick to the curriculum. ● Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments regularly. ● Observe and evaluate student’s performance progress, assessments, and development. ● Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school. ● Maintain classroom cleanliness and orderliness. ● Prepare required report cards on students. ● Participate in parent teacher conferences. ● Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents. Qualifications: ● Perfection and fluency in Qur’an reading. ● Knowledge of theoretical Tajweed and its application. ● The basics of Islamic studies. ● One year of teaching experience recommended. ● Fluent in English. ● Preference given to those with Islamic history background or Al-Hidaya Seminary courses Compensation: $15-20 per hour based on experience.
