Summary We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Elementary Teacher Assistant to join our team at Brighter Horizons Academy. This position is crucial in fostering a positive learning environment for our students and contributing to their academic success. The ideal candidate will be passionate about education and committed to nurturing young minds. Responsibilities 1. Provides support to the teacher in classroom instruction and management; ensures a safe and stimulating educational environment. 2. Assists the teacher in planning and preparation for daily activities; aids instructional efforts of the teacher. 3. Assists the teacher in preparing lesson outlines, plans, and curricula in assigned areas. 4. Plans, prepares, and develops various teaching aids for use in the classroom, including activity sheets, drawings, and similar handouts. 5. Presents subject matter to students, under the guidance of a teacher, utilizing a variety of methods including stories, discussions, and role playing. 6. Leads classroom activities; may confer with parents on children's progress in the absence of the teacher. 7. Grades tests, homework, and completes other clerical work related to classroom operations. 8. Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts. 9. May lead, guide, and train staff/student employees, interns, and/or volunteers performing related work; may participate in the recruitment of volunteers, as appropriate to the area of operation. 10. Escorts students to other areas of the school, such as cafeteria, playground, gym, or other classrooms: monitors their behavior during recess, lunchtime, and student arrival or dismissal. 11. Excellent verbal, organizational, and written communication skills. 12. Occasional work as a substitute teacher. 13. Attention to detail 14. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
