Do you want to use your social media skills to change lives, influence opinions, and build a fairer world?    Have you experience developing and delivering impactful social media strategies?   Are you skilled in creating engaging multimedia content for diverse audiences?   At Islamic Relief Worldwide, we don’t just communicate stories — we change lives through them. As one of the world’s leading humanitarian organisations, working in over 40 countries, we respond to disasters, tackle poverty, and support vulnerable communities. We’re now looking for a talented and ambitious Global Social Media Coordinator to help bring this work to life online in a way that inspires action. This role is the guardian of Islamic Relief Worldwide’s voice on social media. You will manage our organic platforms, tell powerful stories, amplify global voices, and engage existing and new audiences. You will create compelling content that helps drive advocacy and fundraising and enhances our reputation as a trusted sector leader. About the role:   You’ll play a key role in shaping the voice of a globally recognised charity — managing platforms and telling compelling stories that inspire action, build trust, and connect with millions. You will manage and grow our global presence across current and new platforms and create engaging, high-quality multimedia content. You will communicate the impact of Islamic Relief’s humanitarian work, amplify the voices of the communities we serve around the world, and engage diverse audiences – from individual donors and policymakers to institutions and media. You will deliver timely campaigns to support fundraising, advocacy, and emergency appeals and respond quickly to breaking news and global events. The Global Social Media Coordinator will lead the development and delivery of our social media strategy, using data, new trends and partnerships to expand our reach and influence online. Why Join Islamic Relief Worldwide
  • Be part of an organisation with a clear humanitarian mission and strong values
  • Use your professional skills to make a real, meaningful global impact
  • Work with passionate teams across the organisation

PLEASE NOTE:  We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for the role. Therefore, if you are interested, please submit your application as early as possible! Pre-employment Checks:   Any employment with Islamic Relief will be subject to the following checks:
  • screening clearance
  • Criminal records check
  • proof of eligibility to live and work within the UK
  • receipt of satisfactory references
Please note, for UK-based roles, we are only able to accept applications from candidates who are eligible to work in the UK. We are unable to progress applications which would require sponsorship. Our values and commitment to safeguarding IRW is committed to preventing any type of unwanted behaviour at work including sexual harassment, exploitation and abuse, lack of integrity and financial misconduct; and committed to promoting the welfare of children, young people, adults and beneficiaries with whom IRW engages. IRW expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment through our code of conduct. We place a high priority on ensuring that only those who share and demonstrate our values are recruited to work for us.
