Organisation: Islamic Council of Victoria Reports to ICV: ICV Islamophobia Lead Work location: In-Person at ICV Office at 66-68 Jeffcott Street, West Melbourne, working from home and outreach across Victoria. Pay Range: $40 - $42.50 per hour FTE: 1.0 FTE Type: Fixed-Term Role - Ending June 30th with the possibility of extension. The Islamic Council of Victoria: The Islamic Council of Victoria (ICV) is the peak body for Muslim organisations in Victoria. The ICV represents the wider Victorian Muslim community and has more than 80 member organisations located throughout metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria. The ICV’s vision is to build a better community for all Australians through the empowerment of Muslims in Victoria. The ICV aims to fulfil this vision through the provision of advocacy, community development and social welfare services, in consultation and cooperation with governments, multifaith communities, service providers and wider society. The organisation is firmly committed to providing support for, and protecting the rights of, Victorian Muslims. Role Purpose: The Islamophobia Support Service (ISS) Project Support Officer works as part of a small, specialist team addressing Islamophobia through reporting, advocacy, education, and community capacity-building. The role provides project, training, digital, and operational support across the ISS program, working under the direction of the ISS Coordinator. It complements the Community Engagement Officer role by supporting the delivery of training and development activities, online and digital engagement, event coordination, and day-to-day project administration. This role is critical to ensuring the ISS program is delivered efficiently, consistently, and to a high standard within a fixed funding timeframe, while providing opportunities to build skills and experience across community programs, training delivery, and digital engagement. Key Accountabilities: Project & Program Support- Provide day-to-day project support to the Islamophobia Support Service, including coordination of tasks, timelines, and documentation, under direction.
- Assist with tracking program activities, milestones, and outputs to support internal reporting and funding acquittals.
- Support the maintenance of records, registers, and project documentation in line with ICV requirements.
- Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of face-to-face and online training sessions, workshops, and briefings.
- Assist with the preparation of training materials, slides, handouts, evaluation tools, and participant communications.
- Support facilitation logistics, including venue coordination, registrations, attendance tracking, and follow-up activities.
- Assist with online engagement activities, including webinars, digital consultations, and virtual events.
- Support social media monitoring related to Islamophobia trends, incidents, and public discourse, escalating relevant issues to the ISS Coordinator.
- Assist with scheduling and publishing digital content in collaboration with the ISS team.
- Provide logistical and administrative support for community forums, events, and outreach activities.
- Assist with event promotion, registrations, materials preparation, and on-the-day coordination.
- Support the development and dissemination of program resources such as fact sheets, guides, toolkits, and digital content.
- Assist with maintaining program content across online platforms and shared folders.
- Ensure all activities are delivered in a culturally safe, trauma-informed, inclusive, and respectful manner.
- Work collaboratively within the ISS team and under direction from the ISS Lead
- Demonstrated experience supporting projects, programs, or coordination activities, preferably in the community or not-for-profit sector.
- Experience supporting training and development activities, including workshops, presentations, or online learning (delivery or coordination).
- Demonstrated confidence using online platforms and digital tools, including Zoom, webinar platforms, and shared document systems.
- Experience supporting events or forums, including logistics, registrations, or participant coordination.
- Experience assisting with social media monitoring or digital engagement, or demonstrated capacity to develop these skills.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with guidance and support.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with systems, data, and records, including maintaining logs, registers, and basic reports.
- Confidence using standard office software and online collaboration tools, with a willingness to learn new systems.
- Collaborative, reliable, and responsive to direction
- Adaptable and proactive, able to respond to changing needs in a time-limited project environment.
- Culturally responsive and respectful, with an understanding of working in diverse community contexts.

- Tertiary qualification in community services, social sciences, communications, project management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in the community or not-for-profit sector is desirable.
