Human Appeal is a faith-based charity that aims to abolish poverty by providing humanitarian aid, sustainable development programs and championing advocacy for our beneficiaries worldwide. JOB OBJECTIVE The Advocacy and Partnerships Intern will assist the Department of Global Marketing and Communications. This is a hybrid position with some in-person activities both in Washington, DC and in Fairfax, VA. The intern will work closely with our team to further the mission of Human Appeal USA through advocacy and communications. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- Contribute to research projects and profile through expanding digital real estate, writing, research and analysis, and engagement with various stakeholders.
- Support coordination and operation efforts for various activities and tasks.
- Participate in internal & external meetings and write internal memos or blogs for website.
- Event support for summer advocacy activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Exprerience Details
EDUCATION/EXPERTISE:- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Independent and self motivated to perform tasks accurately and efficiently
- Strong communication skills
- Visual acuity to use a keyboard and view a computer terminal. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp.
- May require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand and walk.
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry and/or move light to medium weight up to twelve (12) pounds and/or exert up to twelve (12) pounds of force.
