Job Description: ISNA Canada Quran Academy Teacher
Position: Quran Academy Teacher at ISNA Canada
Location: 2200 South Sheridan Way, Mississauga ON L5J 2M4
Timings: 5:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Term: January 22, 2024 to August 30, 2024
Job Summary: ISNA Canada is seeking a dedicated and passionate Quran Academy Teacher to join our Quran Academy team. ISNA’s Quran Program involves a holistic approach to the study of the Qur’an, with a focus on reading, recitation, and memorization. We serve students aged 5 and up. The Quran Academy Teacher  will be responsible for preparing and delivering age-appropriate lessons to engage and motivate students in their Quran education.
Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging and interactive lessons to effectively educate and motivate students.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Provide guidance and support to students, addressing their individual needs and challenges when reciting or memorizing the Quran.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with students' parents or guardians to keep them informed about their child's progress and address any concerns.
  • Collaborate with other Quran Academy teachers and staff to ensure consistent and comprehensive education delivery.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students during Quran Academy hours.
  • Utilize materials provided by administrators such as but not limited to workbooks and textbooks.
Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in teaching how to read, recite, and memorize the Quran in Canada, is required
  • Prior experience in teaching Qaida Baghdadi in Canada is required
  • Strong knowledge of Islamic Studies, including Quran, Hadith, Seerah, and Islamic principles, is preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage and motivate students
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and deliver age-appropriate lessons
  • Proficient in utilizing a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with students, parents, and fellow staff members
  • Patient, compassionate, and able to provide support and guidance to students
  • Committed to creating an inclusive and nurturing learning environment
  • Possess the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Requirements: 
  • Must be a Hafiz of Quran
  • Must be available for every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday between 5:00 PM - 8:30 PM
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and meet all necessary employment requirements
  • Must obtain a  valid Vulnerable Sector Screening or equivalent background check, as necessary for working with children in an educational setting in the province of Ontario
